Family, Relationships & Society

The structure of our society is based on desires. What we want has always shaped the world, it has shaped the brains of humanity for generations. In today's context, this is taught through the economic understanding of supply and demand. The relationship between what consumers want and the ability of a supplier to provide it shapes businesses, lives and society's landscape as a whole.
This is not just about survival but also about distractions, entertainment and other non-essential desires. However, from a spiritual perspective, desires are not considered conducive for evolution as they obstruct one's perception, especially in the long-term. Indeed, the desires of the human mind shapes lives. From an individual perspective, we can understand that, by analyzing how we spend our time, how we utilize our energy and other resources, financial or otherwise.
In our current society, it is considered normal to prioritize entertainment over evolution. It is considered normal to value human attachments of family and friends, attachments which are only destined to end rather quickly as life on Earth is short. The spirit within us however, does not die. It does not end when our physical body perishes. Whilst on Earth desires entertain and distract us, we must understand that these desires only take us away from the understanding of our own spirit. The glamour that entertains the mind of the masses is nothing but illusion sustained by desires.
Ideals of family, friendships and society are ideas most consider good despite them being pointless most of the time from a spiritual perspective. The spirit is the light of God and it exists within all. It is self-satisfied and it is natural for the human mind to pursue its understanding. Most seek happiness through the fulfilling of desires. However, such happiness, even if achieved, is always temporary. This is why seeking self-understanding is the way to go.
The spiritual aspirant must seek solitude in order to meditate in a state of constant self-enquiry. Whilst this idea is terrifying for a worldly mind who is convinced that real happiness lies somewhere else, we must understand that solitude is the only way by which one may start to reach self-understanding. This is important as in today's society, most of us do not know who we are or how to be outside of social constructs. We exist within our family, friend circles or at work, but we have very little interest in facing ourselves in solitude.
The very life that sustains this universe is found in solitude; strength, peace, compassion and all human qualities that are so lacking in this age of ignorance realized away from the noises of social constructs.
One vector, one star, one soul
So many coins in my pockets,
Give this wealth away until one coin in left,
Until you can hear all its whispers,
Until the mind of life shuts down,
Until your fears stop to run,
Until your cowardice fails to get up
Krishna is fixed in the sky,
Staring from above and below,
Dare to stare at possibilities
Waves roll back and forth
And the mind dare to calm down,
Letting you be a proper container
A prime, a key, a spirit and a star
